"9"

Shane Acker
The movie 9, written and directed by Shane Acker, is an action packed thriller filled with suspense and drama where, "9 explores the will to live, the power of community, and how one soul can change the world."

The world is in total destruction after a scientist (Alan Oppenheimer, "The Never-ending Story") who was asked to make a machine, later called the B.R.A.I.N. The machine was originally built to create a artifically intelligent machine but a dictator abuses the creation and uses the machine as a weapon in war. The machines turn against man kind and destroy any living organisms on earth. As a final attempt to save man kind, the scientist creates 9 burlap rag dolls, each containing a characteristic of his personality, to save the world from becoming permanently destroyed.

Elijah Wood
The film opens with 9 (Elijah Wood, "The Lord of the Rings"), a scared little doll who doesn't know what to do. Eventually, he comes upon another who insists he is there to help him. 2 (Martin Landau,"Mission Impossible"), then gets kidnapped by a machine and 9 tries to save him, but ends up awakening the machine B.R.A.I.N., the scientist's original design. 9 puts all his new found friends in danger, and they embark on a crazy journey and its a race against time to save the world.

Trying to find a way to shut down the machine, 9 must go back to the room where it all began. He finds a 3D hologram from the scientist that was left just for him. He explains how he must defeat the machine to save his lost friends. Once he finds and defeats the machine his friends souls are returned and put to rest.

In my opinion this was a good action packed movie exploring how one's brave actions can change the world. Also, showing that one should speak their mind and give their opinions to work through a problem.

  1. The set-up of your review was nicely organized. Your images that you placed in your article were very vivid and presented in a clear understanding of what "9" looked like. Although you used images to tie into your article, you lacked placing links. The background analysis could have had a little more insight as to the plot of the story, but working with what you had, it provided great details. A little bit more of your "voice" would have added more character to the article as well.Over all, your review on "9" was exceptionally well.

  3. It was well written and had a few grammatical errors. On the play by play part you could of been more informative and included a little more detail. You did a great job on choosing your pictures and had the right amount of links. Overall it was written well and flowed perfectly

Overall, it sounded great. You gave a play by play while also including your commentary. I like how you kept the ending of the movie a mystery and did not ruin the ending. However, next time use a diffrent variety of sentences and make your review appear to be formal or informal. If your going to make it sound "slang" then do not use big words.(:
