Celebrities And Their Baby Names

Like Gwyneth Paltrow with daughter Apple, Alicia Keys and her son Egypt, and even Pilot Inspektor son of Jason Lee, celebrities these days have decided to give their kids odd names, but why?

It seems expert Laura Wattenberg, the author of the name guide “The Baby Name Wizard” (Broadway 2005) and founder of babynamewizard.com (lifeslittlemysteries.com), usual baby names are likely to emerge from popular people. When obsessive fans see their favorite celebrities choosing unique names for their children its likely that they will name their child the same name. So with Celebs trading in standard names for more out of the box stuff it pumps up headlines and increases their ratings. With different names out their it gets the average day people to rethink what they might name their children. So names from just five years ago may seem old fashioned because name keep expanding and getting more abstract. So either its their favorite vacation spot, movie, song, food or even state it looks like the baby names may just get more abstract as the years go on.

  1. The article is about celebrities giving their children unusual names that don't seem to be appropriate fr a child. You gave good commentary and facts about each element you discussed making sure to keep on topic without appearing dull and boring. Keep up the god work and I hope to hear more about this subject

  2. I liked Malainie's article on Celeb baby names. I believe it to be true that many of the celebs give their babies unusual names to help get more attention from the media. Which means more money! Mom
